Lunar Lander (TM) is a one-player coin-operated electronic game that simulates landing a manned spaceship on the moon. Various video-display phrases indicate score, time elapsed during the mission, fuel units consumed, altitude above the moon, and horizontal and vertical speed. The fuel consumption and both speed readings are important for the player to determine how to land the craft. Realistic engine rumble and crash sounds accompany game play. A high beep warns of an almost-depleted fuel supply, whereupon players can add coins to automatically extend the game and "fill up" their fuel tanks. Depending on the quality of the landing or the crash, various messages are displayed on the screen.

Lunar Lander 7k is a classic lander game but with lots of new features. The standard task is just to land your lander vessel on another platform. Lunar Lander Challenge The Lunar Lander competition has two parts. The first requires a vehicle to launch from a designated area, rocket up to 150 feet (50 meters) in altitude, and then hover for 90 seconds. The vehicle then must land precisely on a pad 100 meters away. Prizes for "level 1" are $350,000 for first place and $150,000 for second place.

The control panel for Lunar Lander lit up to indicate which difficulty level you had selected. Information about each level was shown on the control panel. While not essential to the gameplay, it helps you figure out what the options are.
Lunar Lander machine * When you start the game, your Lunar Lander will be floating above the moon's surface. Immediately, your lander will start to descend. Figure out where you want to land and maneuver your lander to that landing pad. Fuel is a valuable commodity in this game. To get the most ''bang'' for your quarter, try to use as little as possible. Since everything burns fuel (even rotating your lander left and right), do your best to get centered over a landing pad so you don't have to overreact at the last minute.
The Lunar Lander Challenge calls for entrants to simulate a trip between the moon and low lunar orbit. There are actually two levels of competition, with both levels requiring the vehicles to fly from one area to another area and back, reaching a minimum altitude of 164 feet (50 meters). The two landing areas would be separated by 100 meters, or about the length of a football field. The vehicle may refuel before its return trip.
